COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 2025 NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship began on Wednesday from the CIU Track Complex in South Carolina. Three Warriors were in the field on day one of the meet as multi-event competition got underway with the decathlon and heptathlon.

Jocelyn Pedretti and
Jaylee Hameister represented the Warriors on day one in the heptathlon while
Brock Jedlicka made his nationals debut in the decathlon.

"It was a good start for the Warriors," said head coach
Jeff Magley. "We're excited to be here at this championship. It's shaping up to be a great championship for us, and I know the team and all of the coaches are excited to be part of this Christian association and to finish out our season at a national championship."

Through one day of the heptathlon, Pedretti sits in first place with a score of 2708. Pedretti set lifetime PRs in three of the events she competed in on Wednesday. Her time of 16.07 in the 100m hurdles moves Pedretti to fifth in program history, and she moves to fourth in program history with her throw of 12.22m in the shot put. She finished the day with a PR of 26.30 in the 200m.

Hameister joined Pedretti in the heptathlon field and sits in sixth through day one. Two of her events finished with lifetime PRs. Hameister set a PR of 8.67m in the shot put and ended the day with a PR of 29.56 in the 200m.

The heptathlon will wrap up on Thursday with the long jump, javelin, and 800m.

Jedlicka made his nationals debut with five events in the decathlon. Day one saw Jedlicka set PRs in the high jump (1.59m) and 400m (56.34).

Still to come on Thursday are the 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500m. He closes day one in tenth place.
