ROCKLIN – The first Division II season of Jessup track & field ended with two Warriors standing on top of the podium at the NCCAA National Championship. A year filled with school records and national qualifiers set the stage for more to come in Jessup's first season of postseason eligibility.
Jessup, competing as a provisional member of Division II in 2025, was ineligible for the NCAA National Championship. Instead, the Warriors competed as a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for its indoor and outdoor postseason experience.
The Warriors began their run at national championships in the early months of 2025, as women's track & field tackled the indoor season. Each week brought a new meet in Reno, leading to the NCCAA Indoor National Championship in Ohio.
Jessup earned four indoor All-Americans at the meet.
Jocelyn Pedretti placed second in the pentathlon.
Paloma Baumert placed second in the pole vault.
Julia Pisenti placed third in the shot put.
Aurora Osburn wrapped up the meet with a third-place finish in the triple jump.
Awards continued to circulate for the Warriors throughout the season. Pisenti would claim three NCCAA Athlete of the Week awards, along with a single PacWest Athlete of the Week selection.
Gianni Miles was named NCCAA Athlete of the Week twice.
The success of Jessup's season carried them into the PacWest Championship, where two Warriors would cement their names as the conference's best.
Miles was crowned champion of the PacWest in the 100m with a time of 10.51. Pisenti earned her PacWest gold in the discus with a top mark of 47.71m.
It was then off to South Carolina for the NCCAA Outdoor National Championship, the final meet of Jessup's season. The Warriors qualified over 20 athletes for the three-day meet that occurred at Columbia International University.
The highlight of the meet was the performances by Pedretti and Pisenti. Pedretti claimed the first national championship of the week with her top performance in the heptathlon. Pisenti followed that with two championships in the discus and javelin.
Jessup also added a slew of All-American finishes: Miles (100m, 200m), Pisenti (shot put),
Derek Brown (discus),
Jeremiah Price (400m hurdles), and
Erica Waseq (100m hurdles).
Waseq later added more hardware as a selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
The 2025 season for Jessup Track & Field can be seen as nothing short of a success. What comes next is the dawning of a new era, as the program looks for its next head coach to guide it into the first season of NCAA National Championship eligibility.
