ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Jessup men's soccer team faced off against Hawaii Pacific at Warrior Field on Thursday and fell 4-0 as the visiting Sharks scored two goals in both the first and second half.
Sharks freshman Alex Arguijo scored two goals in the first half within a three-minute span. After scoring in the 26th minute, Arguijo added a second off an assist from Paul Norberg in the 28th minute. Hawaii Pacific scored their third in the 50th minute with a strike from Kelly Takara that was assisted by Felix Leins. Their final goal was in the 60th minute as Leins crossed it in and found Samuel Gantner, who slotted it home.Â
Jessup tried to answer consistently throughout the game and finished with six shots and three on target. Jonathan Juarez, Jordee Magana, and Jose Perez each had shots on target for the Warriors. Jessup goalkeeper
Alonso Ruiz totaled three saves in the match, while Sharks freshman goalkeeper Oliver Holt also tallied three saves.Â
There were multiple cautions for both squads and two red cards with
Gaven Shin being sent off for the Warriors and Arguijo being issued a red for the Sharks.
Sergio Medina received a yellow card for Jessup while Pedro Ashley and Yony Avelar were issued cautions in the first half for Hawaii Pacific.Â
The Warriors will now prepare for another home match on Monday against the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
