Prior to Jessup: Austin attended Union Mine High School where he set the school record for assist in a season with 165. He was also named to the 1^st team All League and an Honorable Mention in the Section while being named the team captain. Austin also excelled in school where he is a CSF lifetime member, Graduated with a 3.9 GPA and was named to the Who's who of American High Scholl Student.

Personal: Austin is son of Barry and Cara Nelson and was born on October 12^th, 2010. He has three siblings named Bre, Bryson and Olivia. When asked why he chose William Jessup, he said that "I wanted to be in a place where I would be surrounded by believers so I can have a community to live out faith. I also wanted to pursue my basketball career and set myself up to be successful after I graduate in whatever field of work I go into."

Honors and Awards: Austin was named most improved his sophomore year here at Jessup and was the value points winner his junior year. Austin also had the privilege of being named to the NABC Honors Court. Austin has been on the Deans List twice since being at Jessup as well.
