BUCKEYE, Ariz.  - Jessup men's golf continued their spring competition heading back to Arizona to play in the ACU Spring Invitational to start the week on Monday and Tuesday. Despite the strong winds, the Warriors were able to finish third for their fourth top-3 finish this season in six appearances.

Head coach Matt Robinson commented on the showing, "We didn't play our best, and what I believe was below our standard, but we still fought to the finish for third place. This tournament shows us what our potential is and how far we have come."

In the first two rounds on day one, the Warriors fought the winds and cold climate, but out the gate shot a team-low 305 with junior Dominic Salomone shooting just one-over par to lead the Warriors. Right behind was teammate Jacob Custodio with two-over par.

The second round brought challenges as they finished the day third overall 305-315 headed into the final round on day two. 

"The course played hard on opening day, especially the first round," Robinson said. "Everybody struggled in the second round a little bit, it was a hard day of golf and it was mentally and emotionally draining. But the upside to the second round is that our baseline is getting much better. Despite playing below our standards, we are still being competitive."

The final round mirrored the first for Jessup as they shot a 305, with sophomore Oliver Csanyi leading the way with a team-low 74. Salomone finished the highest out of the Warriors in the individual race tied for 7th overall, 73-76-78. 

"Dominic has matured a lot and is really providing leadership for the other guys," reflected Robinson. 
"He gave a few strokes back in the final round but still had a good showing finished t-7. And Ollie played good in his final round shooting 74."

The Warriors will break until their annual appearance at The Battle at Primm on March 17th in Nipton, Ca.
