Game Preview: The Warriors Head to the City Friday to Battle the University of San Francisco

Friday is currently the last game scheduled for Jessup until GSAC play begins in early January

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Jessup women's basketball is set to play one more game prior to the start of GSAC play. Just as you might have guessed, it comes against another NCAA Division I program, the University of San Francisco, on Friday at 2 p.m.

The Warriors' mantra has been "any team, anytime, and anywhere," and they have held true to that in what has been a unique season during a global pandemic.

Fresh Off Two Thousand Mile Road Trip

Most recently, the Warriors (2-5) have completed a five-game, two-thousand-mile trek across three states. Jessup took on a wide range of teams, including three from the Division I rank and a back-to-back outing at The College of Idaho.

Jessup was able to end their epic road trip with a 64-52 wire-to-wire win in a game they never trailed in once and led by as much as twenty-seven. It was an all-around great performance as the Warriors tied a program record with nine blocks, and they were terrific from beyond the arc, making 45-percent of their attempts.

A Look at The Dons

On the flip side, the Dons (2-2) are on a hot streak as they've won their previous two games after dropping two in a row. In their most recent game, it was a nail-biter as USF pulled out a gutsy nine-point win over Fresno State, 102-93 in double overtime.

The Dons are led by Ioanna Krimili, who, through four games, leads the team with 24.3 PPG. Krimili's stellar shooting of 51.9-percent from the field is aided by a 57.6-percent average from the three-point line.

A Look at The Warriors

For the Warriors, this will be their eighth game overall and their fifth against a Division I team. Over the course of the season, the Warriors are led by senior Miranda Zaragoza as she's nearly averaging a double-double with 10.3 PPG and 8.7 RPG.

In what is a balanced scoring attack for Jessup, freshmen Paige Winter and Maila Lepolo have also been playing well, averaging 9.8 and 7.1 PPG, respectively.

How to Watch

Game time on Friday is slated for 2 p.m. from the War Memorial at the Sobrato Center in San Francisco.  Live coverage, including video and stats, will be available through jessupathletics.com.
