RENO, Nev. – The 2022 Track & Field season saw its official beginning on Saturday as Jessup's Rachel Travis competed in the Reno Pole Vault Summit. The meet begins the 2022 indoor season, as Travis works to qualify for another nationals berth.

Travis, a pole vaulter in her senior season, qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 2021 with a 3.57m (11' 8.5") vault at the 49er Invite. She also was named to the GSAC All-Conference team last season with her second-place finish at the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship.

Saturday's competition took place at the Reno-Sparks Event Center and featured a field of eight competitors in the college women division. The meet began Friday evening and included beginner, high school, college, masters, and open classes.

Travis finished in a three-way tie for third in her division, with her best vault being 3.30m. The winning mark was from Aquinas College's Victoria Faber, with a vault of 3.90m.

Only one athlete from the Warriors competed Saturday. The remainder of the team will start up their season on February 12 at the Sunshine Indoor Open at Westmont College.

Jessup Women's Track & Field is coming off the best season in team history. The Warriors won their first ever GSAC Championship and saw six student-athletes qualify for the Outdoor National Championship, five of which also competed at the Indoor National Championship as well.
