Offense Continues to Impress in Jessup’s 84-51 Victory in Merced

Jovicevic dropped a game-high 21 points on 8-of-9 from the floor; Jessup will be in Washington for two games this weekend

MERCED, Calif. – Coming off the best scoring performance in program history, the offense kept its sizzle on Tuesday as the Warriors took on the UC Merced Bobcats. Playing their first official road game, Jessup again shot the lights out with an 84-51 win in the Gallo Recreation Center.

The Warriors improve to 4-0 on the year, and now they shift their focus to a trip to Washington over the weekend.

Andrea Jovicevic led the scoring in Jesup's victory as she dropped 21 points on a stellar 8-of-9 from the floor to pair with seven boards. Jovicevic is averaging 18 PPG this season, which is tops on the Warriors.

The Warriors jumped out to an early lead as they took an 18-7 advantage into the first quarter break. Jessup kept their foot on the gas in the second, outscoring Merced 22-10 to take a 23-point lead into the locker room.

Jessup shot 13-of-29 (.448) in the opening half, compared to just a 4-for-34 showing from their counterparts.

The second half would see the Warriors post 44 points to put the win away and send them back to Rocklin on a winning note.

Makaila Napoleon contributed once again in a winning effort, scoring 13 points to go with six boards. Kayla Vieira dropped a dozen points to go with her six boards as well. Neomi Davidson (9) and Maila Lepolo (8) wrapped up the top scorers for Jessup.

Now, the Warriors look ahead to a trip up north for the Cascade Challenge. This will be Jessup's second appearance in this tournament, hosted by Northwest, as they also visited Washington a season ago.

The Warriors will see the court twice during their time in Kirkland, Wash., starting on Friday when they take on Bushnell at 5 p.m. Jessup will then face the hosts of Northwest on Saturday night.

Jessup will return to Warrior Arena on December 2 when they host Lincoln.
