DAVIS, Calif. – Battling the elements of a rainy weekend across California, the Warriors returned to the track to compete in UC Davis' Aggie Open.
The action began on Friday with the hammer throw. Friday saw a needed break in the rain, allowing for clear skies and better conditions for throwers.
Jessica Pedretti finished the hammer with a top mark of 44.81m.
Alexandra Banducci highlighted the event with a new PR of 40.58m, almost two meters better than her previous mark in Marysville last season.
Team scoring-wise, it was a very good weekend for the Jessup women. With 12 women's teams in the competition, ranging from Division I down to junior college, the Warriors took third. Only the hosting Aggies and Sacramento State topped Jessup.
A new PR was set in the women's 100m as
Eleanor Kania posted a time of 13.33, besting her old PR of 13.45 from the Kim Duyst Invitational in 20222.
Karsyn Leikauf also set a new PR in the 200m with a time of 30.33.
The men's field saw
Tyrone Brown set a new PR in the long jump with a mark of 6.02m. The mark bests his. 5.93m jump at the Sunshine Open to begin his collegiate career.
Alexander Travis competed in two events on Saturday, the 110m hurdle and long jump. His 6.25m mark in the long jump bests his old PR of 5.99 from the Sunshine Open earlier this season.
