CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Warriors were in Claremont on Friday, taking on NCAA Division III opponent Pomona-Pitzer. The Sagehens earned the victory in this first-ever meeting of the two schools, 6-1.
Doubles action saw the point go in favor of the Sagehens as Pomona-Pitzer swept the board, taking down the Warriors in each of the three matches.
Jessup earned their lone point of the day in singles action, thanks to
Austrebeto Carlon. Carlon was victorious in straight sets, taking down Neil Chulani (7-6, 6-1). Others competing in singles play were
Roger Wen,
Sam Smith,
Mihnea Secara,
Isaac Graves, and
Tanner Sitanggang.
The Warriors will resume their trip tomorrow when they square off with Saint Katherine. Saturday will be a GSAC contest, as USK competes in the GSAC in both men's and women's tennis. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m.
