Fall Continues with the First Tournament at Whitney Oaks

Jessup welcomes Cal Maritime and Simson to their home course; The Warriors are scheduled to continue their season at the Chico State Invitational

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Another late addition to the schedule was made as Jessup took on two schools from the Cal Pac on Friday. This time, the Warriors did not have to travel, as their two opponents made the trip to Rocklin for a day on the course at Whitney Oaks.

Whitney Oaks, the official home course of the Warriors, is a challenging track for those new to the setting. The course features trees on every hole, many adding doglegs and blind spots throughout.

Head coach Isaac Sanchez offered a comment on the challenging conditions, noting, "It was a tough day at Whitney. Simpson played really well in tough conditions. We also were unable to finish on the women's side due to darkness. But we will continue to work hard and improve."

Simpson claimed victory in the men's dual, besting the Warriors and Cal Maritime.

Jessup saw the low score of the day come from Juan Crespo, who posted 78 for the Warriors' A team. That team included Ethan Leveque (80), Braden Armstrong (82), Matthew Shimizu (82), and Daniel Johnson (85).

The B team saw the low score come from Arturo Zavala and Trevor Halloran, who both posted 81. Others in the field were Ryan Darrach (84), Mason Gray (92), and Rex Rollins (96).

Drake Kovaly (81) and Max Gunter (84) competed as individuals.

Only two scores were posted in the women's dual before darkness called an end to the action. Jessica Burdick posted 85, and Julianna Canda shot 93.

Next on the schedule for the Jessup men is a trip to Chico, as the Warriors will take part in the Chico State Invitational. The Jessup women will continue their year at the TMU Danish Classic, a tournament Burdick won in 2022.
