SANTA CLARA, Calif. – A three-game road trip kicked off on Tuesday with the Warriors visiting Silicon Valley and Santa Clara University. With the game officially counting as an exhibition, Jessup came out on the losing end of a 67-41 final.
The Warriors, one of the teams named PacWest Team of the Week yesterday, remain at 2-2 to start the season.
It was a combined scoring effort for Jessup Tuesday night, as no player hit double-figures against the Division I Broncos.
Andheya Aurelio led the way with seven points in her 15 minutes off the bench. Aurelio knocked down two triples and also went 1-for-2 at the charity stripe.
Other scorers included
Amari Guiton with six,
Natalie Moulos with five, and three others finishing the game with four.
Jessup shot 29 percent from the field in the loss, and they didn't get many free chances to add to their points, as the team shot just four free throws. The Warriors went 3-for-4 at the charity stripe, with two of those makes coming from
Rayne Tago.
Santa Clara was led by a 24-point performance from Olivia Pollerd who connected on 10-of-17 from the floor. Malia Latu added 11.
Jessup continues the road trip on Friday when they visit San Francisco State. The Warriors then visit Stanislaus State next week. The Warriors will be back home on December 5 when Simpson comes to Warrior Arena.
