ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Warriors suffered their first PacWest conference loss as they welcomed the visiting Oaks of Menlo College. The Thursday night matchup ended in a final score of 75-57 in favor of the Oaks.
The Warriors are now 2-1 in conference, 5-3 on home court, and 7-4 overall.
This loss for Jessup comes after five consecutive wins for the Warriors. The Warriors defeated Stanislaus State, Simpson University, Westmont College, California Maritime Academy, and Dominican University of California to tally five straight wins—four of the last five games played in Warrior Arena.
The first two quarters of play were back-and-forth. After the first quarter, Jessup took a three-point lead, going ahead of the Oaks 17-13. Menlo would find a momentum push and take the lead over Jessup as the buzzer sounded in the second quarter. There would be a one-point difference in favor of the Oaks as both teams entered the locker rooms for halftime.
The difference in this battle was the last half of the game. After three-quarters of play, Menlo took a 55-41 lead. The Oaks' momentum continued throughout the game as the visiting Menlo College head back to Atherton with a 75-57 win.
Andrea Jovicevic drained 18 points to lead the leaderboard for the Warriors in her 29 minutes played. She leads the Warriors in points scored with 142 total on the season thus far. Kayla Vieira (9) and Laia Pala (7) were also the top three on the scorer's leaderboard.
Jessup will take a break from a long homestand and hit the road. They will travel to SoCal to take on the Lions of Vanguard on December 21st in Costa Mesa.
