ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Warriors defeated SoCal opponent Hope International on Thursday night on home court. Jessup dominated the Royals 80-67 in a crucial late-season matchup to tie the single-season program record.
The Warriors are 20-4 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
Thursday night was more than just a basketball game; it was a night as the Warriors decked out in pink to remember coach Kay Yow in Play4Kay night. Jessup gave the fans good entertainment and raised awareness for a good cause.
Play4Kay honors those who have fought and beat the fight against cancer. Coach Kay Yow created Play4Kay as "a way to unite communities and honor cancer warriors in the fight against all cancers affecting women. Uniting players, coaches, officials, and fans to do something for the greater good that far exceeds wins and losses in competition."
In a crucial conference game with only four games left in the regular season, the Warriors didn't skip a beat coming off their victory in Arizona last week.
The Warriors were good from the free throw line, and three different Warriors put up double-digit scoring numbers, including
Kayla Vieira (13),
Neomi Davidson (12), and
Natalie Moulos (10).
Jesus is now 11-1 at home and looks to continue the hot streak with the home-court advantage come Saturday afternoon. With only four regular-season games left, the Warriors will look to continue the win streak and will take on the Lions of Vanguard University with a noon tip-off.
