ROCKLIN, Calif. – The final NAIA Coaches' Poll was released by the national office on Wednesday morning, and once again, the Warriors find themselves in the top ten. For the third poll in a row, Jessup comes in at No. 7 in the country.
Voting for the final rankings was finalized on Monday before the GSAC Tournament began. Jessup has since gone 1-2 in tournament play, with the second loss coming to Hope International in an elimination contest Tuesday night.
The Warriors are 36-9 on the season and went 15-5 in conference play, resulting in the program's second GSAC regular season championship. With that came the top seed in the conference tournament at OC Great Park in Irvine.
Vanguard moves up in the rankings from No. 25 to 19. Hope International dropped to No. 23. The Lions and Royals will meet on Wednesday in the championship round of the GSAC Tournament.
The past week saw many highlights out of the softball program, including head coach
Brie Campbell winning her second GSAC Coach of the Year and
Sarah Giles earning Player of the Year honors. Giles leads the NAIA with a .583 average and 66 RBI.
Five other Warriors were named to the All-GSAC team.
Jessup, now out of the GSAC Tournament, will find out who they will take on the NAIA Opening Round on May 9 when the NAIA releases to the 2024 bracket. The Warriors are expected to receive an at-large bid.
