Jessup Drops PacWest Road Contest to Oaks

Warriors continue road stint and look to take on Dominican University on Thursday starting at 12:00 PM

ATHERTON, Calif. – The Warriors were unable to overcome a decisive second-half run from Menlo College on Tuesday night, falling to the Oaks by a final score of 83-60. The Warriors kept the contest close through the opening 20 minutes, but a dominant third quarter from Menlo proved to be the difference maker in the conference road battle.

This loss now moves the Warriors to 0-3 in conference and 2-7 overall.

The game began as a tightly contested affair at Haynes-Prim Pavilion. The two teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter, with the Oaks holding a slim 19-15 lead after the first ten minutes. Jessup fought back in the second frame, posting 19 points to match Menlo's output, and went into the halftime break trailing by only four points, 38-34.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the third quarter. Menlo found their rhythm on the offensive end and put up 24 points while holding the Warriors to 14, stretching their lead to a 14-point margin heading into the final quarter. The Oaks maintained control throughout the fourth period, outscoring Jessup 21-12 to close out the victory.

The Warriors saw three players reach double-figure scoring on the night. Giselle Dogan led the scoring effort, pouring in a team-high 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field, including an efficient 3-for-6 performance from three-point range. Dogan also added two assists and a block.

Porter Wood delivered a powerful performance in the paint, securing a double-double with 12 points and a team-best 10 rebounds. Wood was a perfect 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.

Amari Guiton was a major spark for the offense, scoring 12 points on an exceptionally efficient 5-of-6 shooting from the field, while also chipping in two steals.

Jessup will continue their stint on the road as they head to San Rafael, California, to take on Dominican University on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 12:00 PM.
