ROCKLIN, Calif. - On Saturday afternoon, the Warriors of Jessup University played the Sea Lions of Point Loma Nazarene. Despite leading Point Loma by 2 points at halftime, the weekend matchup ended in defeat with a final score of 57-48.

Jessup moves to 9-12 overall and 4-9 in the PacWest play. 

The Warriors returned home after a road trip victory against Fresno Pacific University, defeating the Sunbirds 66-61. Today, the Sea Lions of Point Loma Nazarene visited Warrior Arena, standing at the top of the standings board in PacWest play. 

The Warriors began the game strong, taking a lead over the Sea Lions in the first quarter. Jessup kept the lead going into the half, with a two-point lead over the PacWest leaders. 

The offense, however, came to a standstill in the returning quarter after the halftime break, only scoring four points in the third quarter. Point Loma was able to command the lead over Jessup and extend it in the final quarter of play. The Sea Lions would come out on top with a final score of 57-48 over the Warriors of Jessup. 

Kayla Vieira led the scoring for the Warriors with 17 points, nine rebounds, and 6-11 from the field. Tatiana Newsome was behind Vieira on the scoreboard with 10 points on the day and went 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. 

Jessup will head to the 808 to visit the Aloha State for their next road trip, beginning with the Sharks of Hawaii Pacific University on February 6th. The Warriors will return home on February 15th.
