CARMEL, Calif. – The spring rendition of Menlo College's PCH Invitational came to a close on Tuesday with 18 holes at Quail Lodge Golf Resort. The Warriors produced a ten-stroke improvement as a team, but leave with a fifth-place finish in the five-team field.
 
Simpson University is the winner of the PCH Invitational, besting PacWest program Westmont by 18 strokes. Other schools in the field were Menlo and Hope International.
 
The individual champion was Simpson's Justin Kiester. After an opening round 69 (-2) on Monday, Kiester repeated his scorecard on Tuesday to close out the tournament four-under. He finished seven strokes ahead of the runner-up, his teammate Trey Alwert.
 
Jessup's Michael Sorber produced an eight-shot improvement on Tuesday, as he bounced back from an opening round 78 (+6) with a final round of 70 (-1). Sorber finished the tournament in a tie for fourth.
 
Paolo Castaneda was next on the leaderboard for Jessup, finishing in a tie for sixth after a final round of 73 (+2). Castaneda was in the field as an individual.
 
Jessup's team score included rounds by Jerah Venkaiya (T16), Nicholas Schultz (T19), and Braden Armstrong (T19).
 
The Warriors will continue their spring season on Sunday, March 9, with round one of the Battle at Bandon, a match play tournament hosted by Bushnell in Bandon, OR. Jessup will then compete in the Sonoma State Spring Invitational as the final tournament before the PacWest Championship.
