HONOLULU, Hawaii – On day two of Jessup's visit to Hawaii, the Warriors remained in Honolulu as a matchup with Chaminade was on the schedule. Backed by a big first half, the Warriors picked up the victory, leaving Oahu with a 63-46 finish.
Jessup is now 5-10 in PacWest action, with their overall record moving to 10-13.
Kayla Vieira led Jessup in scoring on Saturday, dropping 18 points on 7-of-15 from the field. Vieira added a perfect 4-for-4 showing at the charity stripe and pulled down four boards.
Andheya Aurelio and
Tatiana Newsome led the rebounding effort with six each.
Jessup posted 22 points in the first quarter, holding Chaminade to nine. Their defense remained stout in the second, holding Chaminade to just three points, as Jessup's lead sat at 22 points entering halftime.
The Warriors added to that lead with a 20-11 advantage in the third.
Chaminade shot just 24 percent from the field on Saturday. They are now 5-12 in PacWest play. The Warriors connected on 42 percent of their attempts.
Jessup's visit to Hawaii will end on Monday when they switch islands and head to Hilo for a meeting with Hawaii Hilo. The contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (PST).
