DAVIS, Calif. – Track & field made their way to Davis this weekend for UC Davis' Aggie Open. The two-day meet saw a number of PRs, and two Warriors continue to post marks that place them in contention for an NCCAA National Championship berth.
 
Sophomore Julia Pisenti kept her unbeaten streak alive in the discus, as last year's NAIA runner-up posted a top mark of 47.30m. Pisenti also added a first-place finish in the javelin with her throw of 40.27m and a second-place finish in the shot put at 13.06m.
 
Pisenti currently leads the PacWest and the nation in the discus.
 
The throws also saw a PR come from Jocelyn Pedretti in the discus with her mark of 39.17m
 
Another top performance came in the sprints as Gianni Miles made his season debut in the 400m. His time puts him third in program history. Miles set a PR with his time of 49.80. He is currently third in the NCCAA with that time but sits first with his times in the 100m and 200m set in Turlock two weeks ago.
 
The distance runners had a strong performance. Zachary Heberlein set two new PRs in the 1500m and 3000m. Cheyenne Ullrich also had a PR performance in the 1500m.
 
Saturday saw a debut performance out of Laurence Mitchell-Patterson in the long jump. His mark of 6.05m moves him into the top ten in program history. Chris Hackney also set a PR in the 100m.
 
The track & field season will continue next week when the Warriors head to Sacramento for the Hornet Invitational, hosted by Sacramento State.
