SEASON REWIND: STUNT Carries Championship Pedigree into Division II

Jessup competed in the national championship game for the fourth consecutive season; The Warriors finished 7-0 inside Warrior Arena

07/14/25

ROCKLIN – The pursuit of championships continues at Jessup University, as STUNT entered year one of Division II as the three-time defending national champions of NAIA. Taking on a new landscape, Jessup continued to showcase itself as one of the nation's best, as its season ended in the championship game for the fourth year in a row.

Head coach Alexis Blunk and the Warriors have come a long way since their winless debut season in 2021. Jessup won the NAIA National Championship in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2025, the Warriors won 15 games, giving them double-digit victories for the fourth straight season.

Warrior Arena was a friendly face to the Warriors and a scary sight to their opponents. Jessup went 7-0 in home games in 2025 with wins coming against UC Davis (twice), Cal Poly (twice), Sonoma State, Arizona State, and Vanguard.

The Warriors also took their talents to the road with their first big road trip, taking them to Oklahoma. Jessup competed four times in the OBU STUNT Tournament, finishing 2-2 with wins coming against Maryville and Oklahoma State.

Jessup's two losses came against teams they would later see at nationals: Davenport and Oklahoma Baptist.

A second road trip came for Jessup in March when the Warriors visited Riverside and the home of Division I's top STUNT program, Cal Baptist. The Warriors opened The Joust with a victory against Arizona State, but their next two games would see losses to Kentucky and Cal Baptist.

CBU and Kentucky would later meet in the Division I national championship game.

The Warriors picked up a victory in Irvine against Concordia to end their Southern California trip. The final road trip of the regular season came in April when Jessup visited San Luis Obispo for Cal Poly's Mustang Stampede.

A second victory over Concordia opened the trip, but next came a triple overtime loss to Vanguard. CBU handed Jessup a loss to round out the trip, setting up a return to Warrior Arena for a Senior Night victory.

Nationals in 2025 took all STUNT teams to Nashville. The Warriors began their run at a fourth consecutive championship with a 15-2 win against Trevecca Nazarene.

Jessup's next two games were against the two schools that had beaten the Warriors in Oklahoma. The Warriors avenged both losses, starting with a 17-16 win against Davenport, followed by an 18-13 win against Oklahoma Baptist, which put the Warriors in the championship game. A rematch with Davenport was set, except this time it was Davenport to get the win as Jessup exited the season as national runner-up.

The Warriors showcased in 2025 that they were not afraid of the bright lights of Division II. When 2026 rolls around, Jessup will be looking to return to its championship-winning ways.
