ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Jessup University's men's tennis team hit the courts at Johnson Ranch Sports Club North to host Westmont College in a PacWest conference clash, 0-7.

Before the opening serves, the Warriors took a moment to proudly honor their graduating seniors: Marc Charlanne, Henrique Levy, Caleb Poling, Kyle Rutz, Tanner Sitanggang, and Joren Stevens. 

Action began with a competitive showing in doubles, where the No. 1 pair of Joren Stevens and Mario Curiel, along with the No. 3 duo of Henrique Levy and Lucas Pham, both battled hard before dropping 6-3 decisions. Westmont captured the doubles point, but the Warriors responded with immediate fire in singles play.

At the top of the lineup, Stevens took the opening frame of his No. 1 singles match before his opponent rallied, resulting in a nail-biting 6-4, 3-6, 2-10 defeat. Mario Curiel showed immense resilience at No. 2 singles, bouncing back from a first-set loss to grind out a 7-6 victory in the second set, eventually falling just short in a marathon super tiebreaker, 1-6, 7-6, 10-12. Meanwhile, Caleb Poling echoed that same fighting spirit at No. 6, dropping his first set but storming back to take the second, ultimately bowing out 2-6, 6-4, 2-6. Leo Pham and Lucas Pham also provided strong resistance in the middle of the lineup, fighting for several games before falling in straight sets.

Jessup's next two matches will be on the road, first with Fresno Pacific University on April 4th at 1:00 PM.
